Darrell Kennedy

Darnell Kennedy is a dedicated public servant and former professional athlete known for his leadership, discipline, and commitment to justice. Born in Mobile to Lee and Silvia Kennedy, he built a strong foundation rooted in perseverance and integrity. He attended Alabama State University, where he studied Criminal Justice.

Kennedy began his professional football career, playing eight seasons in the Canadian Football League with teams in Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto. He later played four seasons in the Arena Football League, most notably with the Georgia Force. After retiring from football, Kennedy served 11 years with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, where he rose through the ranks as a member of the first-ever Viper Unit, SWAT Team Lead, and Commander of the Elite Fugitive Squad. In this role, he led efforts resulting in the arrest of numerous murder suspects and other violent offenders.

Kennedy currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office under the leadership of Fani T. Willis. He is a member of the High-Profile Case Difficult Witness Task Force and Technology Unit (HP Plus), where he focuses on complex murder investigations. Drawing on his extensive experience in fugitive operations, high-profile arrests, and trial preparation, he continues to make significant contributions to the success and growth of the unit.
